Why Am I So Unlucky With Women?

Kelvin is my name,  a nice gentleman who believes in influencing the lives of people around. I've been through thick and thin at the hands of women. Here is my story, please share it, who knows if someone out there may be interested in me

I met Cynthia 8 years ago when I was appointed as the Chief consultant for oil and gas at a multinational corporation. Life was very rosy, women were darting around to get my attention, but the least I could do was compromise Cynthia with any other woman. Cynthia was my life, she was my world, so I did everything possible to keep other women at bay. I met her at a friend's party. She came through the company of her girlfriend who was courting my friend the celebrant. As I sat watching her, she appeared so naive and innocent. I approached her and we became friends.

I learned from Cynthia that her parents were divorced and this affected the academic status of the children as their father failed in his responsibility. I took it upon myself and shouldered the responsibility of the family. I stopped her mother from hawking wares around, got a good shop, and established her in fabrics. I also sponsored Cynthia's education and that of her three siblings. At the height of her graduation, I invited her over. "Baby,  in a couple of weeks, I'll meet your father to propose," I told her joyfully. "Okay," she said so nonchalantly. Okay was all she could mutter lightly and I felt she was displeased as her father will reap from where he didn't sow by collecting her bride price and other stuff.

Days later her result came out and Cynthia made me so proud by emerging as the best-graduating student in her department. Wow! I was so impressed and I surprised her with a brand new car. A week later when I was to visit Cynthia's father, she visited with the excuse that he was sick and asked I hold on till he gets better. This kept dragging on for over a month until she visited and dropped another one. "Honey, he is better now but he's against our marriage, he says I must marry from my place," she told me with no keen interest attached. "Don't worry, I just need to meet your father. When he sees me, he'll know I can't hurt you, he'll know he's got a gentleman for In-law," I told her. "That man, he's so self-reliant. He sticks to his word," she said. "Relax, everything will be taken care of, okay," I assured her.

Two months later, "my father keeps insisting that I must marry from my place, he's threatened to embarrass me if I should dare attempt to present you before him, I know what this man can do," she told me. I was deep in thought, so confused. "Don't worry, I'll meet your mother about it," I told her.

The next day after work, I stopped by her mother's shop and deliberated over it. I pleaded with her to use her power as the mother to convince the father, let him know that I mean good for her and the entire family, and should abolish ethnicity. "I am her mother, and she must marry you whether the father likes it or not. Don't worry,  I'll see him, and expect to hear from me soon," she told me. As I got up to go, I brought out a substantial amount of money and gave it to her. She exclaimed with joy, "I have the final say, she's yours. You'll hear from me soon," she told me. I left happily as I so much believed in her to play a vital role.

A few weeks passed and I didn't hear from Cynthia's mother, curiously I went back to her. "My son, that man is very difficult, I talked to him and convinced him, but he now insists that she must get a job first before getting married, now that getting a job is scarce,  how possible is the marriage?" she sounded so concerned. "Mama, then there's no cause for alarm; with her qualifications, I'm getting her a job soon," I told her, and she just stared at me. I brought out money, gave it to her, and left.

Days later,  Cynthia changed toward me.  I had to call and begged before she'll come around my place. Lovemaking became so cold. She'll complain of either pain or headache,  and if she eventually agrees, it must come with a condition. "One minute so that I can rest," she'll tell me. Weeks later, she changed completely. She stopped seeing me or returning my calls. Even when I visited, nobody would attend to me. I had no choice but to run to her mum about it.

"This is beyond me, Cynthia is avoiding you because she can't go against her father's instructions. Her father still insists on his previous stand that she must marry from her place," she told me. "What's going on? Why am I being cajoled? After I've succeeded to get her a job, waiting endlessly for her arrival so to give her the good news, but only to receive this same old story?" I said with a tone of disappointment. "I did my best but her father, uncles, and aunties all insist that she must marry from her place. My advice to you is to move on and get a wife elsewhere. Stop coming to me over Cynthia because she's mature enough to speak and decide for herself. Will you wish your child to disobey you? Then don't be selfish to instigate her to disobey her father.  As you can see, I'm a very busy woman, and it's not easy abandoning my sales to be attending to you, so please if you can't move on, I'll have no option but to focus on my sales when next you come," she said as she stood up and left me. Quite unbelievable! The very woman I transformed. I felt so dejected, stood up and left.

Every day I kept wishing for Cynthia to come back to me, but after like two months I got the shock of my life. Cynthia's girlfriend who later married my friend told me that Cynthia got married days ago,  and to a man from a foreign state not from her place. I pulled myself together. So I was fooled by Cynthia and her mother? I dusted myself,  wiped my tears and assured myself to move on as well. She's married, and I have no option but to move on as her mother told me. I desperately needed to settle down, so I started seeing one of the girls who was seeking my attention. "I want a future with you,  I don't want dating and getting dropped," the lady I was seeing told me. I was moved with joy. Cynthia had never for once told me how we can spend the future together,  coz she didn't want me for marriage but someone here is serious about marriage and  has aired it out. Right from that day, my love for her multiplied in 10 folds.  I diverted the job which was still pending and meant for Cynthia to my new woman. She was so happy as she worked in a reputable government organization. There was one thing I noticed as she started working, I caught her twice in her boss's car late in the evening and she started acting so suspiciously. "Are you going out with your boss?" I asked her one day. "So you can't trust me? Why ask me such a question when you know I can never attempt such a thing?" she ranted.

I maintained my cool and ignored it, but luck ran out of her one weekend as she was chatting and left her phone open to get some water. I glanced through it and behold it was that very man, her boss! I forwarded the chats to my phone. I cried over what I read. The man makes love to her every day in the office. She promised the man that even when she was married, she'll keep dating him. When she came back and discovered I saw the chats and forwarded them to my phone, she fled. That was the last time of seeing her.

I didn't know who to trust again for marriage. I met a girl who was an orphan and I became interested in her. At least this one without a father, mother, and relatives will see a father, mother, and relatives in me. She'll stoop low to value me. I told myself. We started seeing, but she wasn't a graduate, so I promised to enroll her in school when we get married. She even surprised me when she moved in to stay with me, it endeared her more to me as I felt she wasn't seeing another man,  hence she would have needed her space to play around. I had two cars, so I taught her how to drive and use one when I wasn't around. She adapted and learned so fast. Her lovemaking was perfect, at times I wonder how she managed to acquire so much skill in lovemaking but boomed! I got the answer when I returned from work one day and met my house empty. She absconded with my car, gold, a bunch of dollars and pounds, and other valuables. No wonder, I got the answer, she was a street girl!

This is over two years, I haven't gone close to any woman. The fear of women trails me and keeps them far from me. I've seen my male colleagues/friends who are players, playing with the emotion of women yet at the end of the day they still end up marrying the best wife who listens to them and defends them, but why am I so unlucky with women? I have seen cool guys like me also getting good partners for a wife, but why is mine different?

Where will I ever get true love? Age is telling on me, and my aged parents are crying every day that I must give them grandchildren before they answer the glorious call. Since I started loving a woman, no woman has ever reciprocated. Please share my story,  who knows I may be lucky to find someone out there who can accept me.
